On a recent visit to Hyderabad, Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev, a contemporary yogi, spiritual leader, golfer and visionary Humanitarian made an interesting note on stress. He said that life is not stressful and stress is created due to a person’s inability to manage his mind and body. We all know that stress leads to several life-style disorders that seriously impact a person’s day-to-day activities. Some people hit the gym, some take to yoga and others pray to their beloved deity to help them overcome stress. Prasad, a very important component in a ritual, contains a Deity’s blessings and is therefore very holy. Moreover, Prasad nurtures positive thoughts as Prasad is first offered to a Deity with prayers for His blessings. Hence, it is believed that the Deity has accepted the prayers in the form of Prasad and it contains His blessings. Hence, the Prasad is said to contain positive energy. This positive energy would help alleviate stress.
