Significance of Shri Hanuman Chalisa

Hanuman Ji is known for his strength and devotion towards Lord Ram. Recitation of Sri Hanuman Chaalisa is the most important thing while worshipping Pavanputra Hanuman, it gives strength and happiness. Hanuman Chalisa is a collection of poetic verses written by Goswami Tulsidas in praise of Hanuman Ji. Meaning of the word chalisa is 40 hence Hanuman Chalisa consists of 40 verses. According to Tulsidas whoever recites Hanuman Chalisa will attract the infinite grace of Lord Hanuman.

Tuesday is considered as the day of Hanuman Ji therefore he should be worshipped especially on this day to seek his love and blessings. Reading Hanuman Chalisa has many miraculous effects like reciting Hanuman Chalisa with full devotion saves one from dangers and makes a person more confident. More significantly when chalisa is read at night time it helps in removing evil forces and helps in getting over the sins committed knowingly and unknowingly. Hanuman Ji is also known as the remover of obstacles therefore reading Hanuman Chalisa with pure heart removes all the obstacles in the path of truth and wisdom.

Each hymn in Hanuman Chalisa has specific deep meaning and fills the reader with positive energy. The interesting fact about Hanuman Chalisa is that the distance between earth and sun described in the Chalisa is exactly the same as discovered by scientists much later.

“Yug Sahastra Yojan Par Bhanu Leeyo Taahi Madhur Phal Janu!”

According to these lines the sun is at a distance of Yug Sahahta Yojan from earth which means

1 Yuga = 12000 years

1 Sahastra = 1000 years

1 Yojan= 8 miles

Yuga X Shastra X Yojan = Bhanu

12000 X 1000 X 8 = 96000000 miles

1 mile = 1.6 km

So, 96000000 X 1.6 = 1536000000 km

1536000000 km is the exact distance between sun and earth when sun is farthest from earth as calculated by modern day scientists!

On this auspicious day, Order Prasad from Hanuman Temple, New Delhi and seek his blessings wishes that you all get the blessings of Hanuman Ji. Jai Shri Ram. Jai Hanuman.
