Significane of Hanuman Jayanti

Hanuman Jayanti is celebrated to commemorate the birth of Pavanputra Hanuman Ji. It is celebrated on the 15th day of the month of Chaitra according to Hindu Calender. This year Hanuman Jayanti is on 4th April 2015. People starts gathering in Temples from early morning itself on this auspicious day of the birth of Lord Hanuman to offer their prayers.

Lord Hanuman is known for his fervent devotion towards Lord Ram. Hanuman Ji is the ideogram of strength and power; He has the power to vanquish evil spirits also. He is able to assume any shape, size and form. He is believed to be the eleventh incarnation of Lord Shiva. Hanuman Jayanti is celebrated with great fervor and gusto throughout the country. 4. Some men are seen observing fast (Vrat) on Hanuman Jayanti.
5. Specials programmes (Nautankee) depicting the bravery and courage of Lord Hanuman or Mahavira are also organized on Hanuman Jayanti.

 

Apart these, it is a tradition to put orange color vermillion on the forehead taken from the feet of the idol of Hanuman Ji. Laddoos are offered as Prasad on the day of Hanuman Jayanti.
