Perform The Laxmi Kubera Homam For Attaining Wealth
About homam

By devoting yourself to the Laxmi Kubera yajna, you can attain wealth and prosperity. Homam is essentially the worship of Gods and Goddesses through the medium of fire. A powerful and effective practice was taught in ancient eras by the rishis. By performing this homa, experiencing an inner or spiritual transformation becomes possible. This positive experience further helps in blocking negative karmas that quell your fate and success. Conducting an agnihotra will enable swift recovery from debts as it appeases the deities Laxmi and Kuber. It assists in breaking different barriers that block your path from achieving success and accumulating wealth.

A brief history

Lord Kubera is revered as the Yakshas leader who helps in procuring wealth for the benefit of mankind. He is further renowned as the Lord of riches in Hindu mythology. Also known as Dhanpati, Kubera is said to be sage Vishrava’s son. Ancient texts state that Kubera is the leader of Uttar-disha that signifies the direction of North in Sanskrit. Some scriptures denote that he is Ravana, the Lord of Lanka’s brother. Iconography of this deity explains that he carries a bag or pot of gold coins and wears gold jewelry. The Creator of this universe, Brahma gave Kubera immortality and made him the God of prosperity and wealth.

Kubera is also known as the guardian of earths treasures who distributes wealth to deserving people. Goddess Laxmi is the Hindu deity of prosperity, wealth, wisdom, generosity and fortune. It is believed that Devi Laxmi protects devotees from financial worries and removes money-associated woes. Worshipping Devi Laxmi and Kuber helps in providing material wealth and comforts. The Rigveda mentions the combined power of these deities and leaders of wealth who are also the storehouse of affluence and other riches.

Days for conducting the yajna

Conducting this beneficial homa on Fridays will be an ideal option. You can also perform the sacrosanct rituals during full moon and Panchami Tithi days. Many opt for performing these sacred rites during Chaturthi and Chaturdashi, as well. Several priests recommend that the day of Amavasya in November will be ideal for conducting Sri Laxmi Kubera Puja and homam.

Festivals associated with Lord Kubera and Goddess Laxmi include Dhanteras or Dhantrayodashi. Devotees perform that pious yajna on this day and even buy gold. Another religious event is Sharad Purnima where you can offer your prayers for appeasing these deities. Certain other suitable days include Purnima Tithi and Trayodashi.

Importance of rituals

Before beginning the rites and rituals, invoking the divinities is an essential aspect. Priests perform these rituals after summoning Lord Kuber and Goddess Lakshmi by conducting the Yajna through the Holy Fire. Alongside conducting the homam, priests also chant mantras along with presenting offerings to the sacred fire. The smoke that emanates from this fire is considered quite powerful and effective. It has a positive impact on those sitting around the havan kund. This homam is performed for bringing beneficial results in matters of wealth and fortune. It further aids in bringing financial prosperity, happiness and stability in your lives.
