Anant Pai, popularly known as Uncle Pai, was an Indian educationalist and a pioneer in Indian comics. Pai was born in Karkala, in what was the erstwhile Madras Presidency of British India on 17 September 1929 to a Konkani-speaking Goud Saraswat Brahmin couple, Venkataraya and Susheela Pai. in particular the Amar Chitra Katha series in 1967, along with the India Book House publishers, and which retold traditional Indian folk tales, mythological stories, and biographies,Besides comics, Pai was also a specialist in personality development.
